2019 Washington Morel Foray:

Since I started doing forays in 2001, my joy for teaching people that don’t know, and learning more from those that do know about mushrooms, who attend these forays, has continued to grow and grow. I have now guided over 1700 people and completed more than 300 forays! With the two spring 2009 Morel forays being quickly booked up and as many as 20 on a waiting list, I have decided to start an earlier registration for the upcoming forays, giving everyone ample time to make plans and arrangements to attend the foray of their choice. I now am offering Fall, Winter and Spring Forays for the upcoming mushroom seasons. These forays are the best possible way to build your own knowledge and have hands-on experience in the woods! And even if you are quite knowledgeable yourself, meet new friends and enjoy some of the best tasting mushroom dishes created by Chris that one can imagine! Remember, it is not just about going out to my best spots across the country and slamming them, but a huge learning experience, enjoying diverse hunters’ company, and enjoying some amazing mushroom cuisine! Our goal is always to find plenty to cook with, and enough left over so everyone can bring some home!

Kids under 10 are FREE HUNTING! (if they need lunch and feast included, cost is just $50, and kids foray t-shirts are just $20)

Please Note: All future Forays have a new layout. Each person who attends receives  Lunch, Feast, and link to the online foray video. Mesh bags will be available for purchase if you need one. If you need to cancel for any reason, you may transfer to any other upcoming foray for just a $25 re-registration fee, no refunds will be given. Some forays are one full day of hunting, others are “extended forays” with two days of hunting.

ONLY One membership required per party, and good for entire family, (no need to have individual memberships!) MEMBERSHIP INFO

Foray Disclaimer

By participating in a foray, realize that we have no control over the weather. Scheduling is done a year in advance with the best possible averages in springtime arrival for each particular area. The event will take place on the dates specified if at all possible, and there will be no changes in timing because of an early or late spring, or because of dry weather, wet weather, extreme heat or cold. In extreme cases, we do want to be as successful as possible, so we have the right to make date changes if necessary in these extreme situations. If a date does change, and in 15 years have only had to do this 3 or 4 times, then you are still locked in as a registered participant, and if you cannot make the new schedule dates, then you will get a free transfer to another foray or the same foray the following season if it is equal value or less, or a free transfer to any other spring or fall foray, there are NO REFUNDS due to date changes. We hunt in the rain, the sunshine, the snow, and in the the drought. Usually we have very good luck, and everyone gets to take home fresh mushrooms, but occasionally mother nature does not cooperate, but we still have a lot of fun, including some great fellowship and food as well. You should also hopefully learn a lot regardless. Whether we find a lot or not, the costs to do these forays remains the same. If you cancel because of an emergency, you can still transfer to another foray for free. There are NO REFUNDS due to you canceling. If you find that something comes up and you cannot make it to a foray you registered for, I will allow you to transfer it to another foray. If I cancel a foray for lack of participation, or some other unforeseen emergency, you will be refunded in full. Lets hope for the best, and go out and find some mushrooms!
